Welcome to The Outlaw Cabin, our lovingly restored homesteader’s retreat nestled on Warm Springs Mountain in Dubois, Wyoming. We think it’s a perfect spot for couples, families, or anyone craving a true taste of the West. This living piece of Wyoming’s history gives you an authentic Western cabin experience near the Shoshone National Park and with close proximity to Jackson Hole, Yellowstone National Park, and Grand Teton National Park.
A Cabin with a Story
The Outlaw Cabin is a living piece of Wyoming’s history. We purchased it from a fellow in Meteetsee, Wyoming, who specializes in finding and restoring old wooden structures. As far as we know, the cabin started as a Sears & Roebuck homesteader’s kit in the early 1900s. Each log was carefully disassembled, labeled, and transported to our ranch for reassembly.
Over the past few years, we’ve been pouring our hearts into this place to build it in a manner that pays homage to the history of the structure, its wooden planks and the original techniques used to build it, and the original families who have called it home.
The result is a wonderful mix of old and new, expertly blended by our master builder, Shawn Beebe, with first-rate chinking work by Janeen Sayers.
Special thanks to Jerry and Sara McClintic for their support, and to our friends Josh Johnson and Luke Schuneman for helping transform this idea into a reality we can now share with the world.
