On our wedding day in 2014, Joe and I stood at the Overlook with the Absaroka mountains spread out before us. We had dreams of sharing the West with guests, the wide open skies, and the quiet backcountry. What we didn’t realize then was that our future Ranch was already waiting for us just over the hill, looking down on our wedding day.
Joe and I first visited Arcady Ridge Ranch years ago to attend a friend’s wedding. At the time, parts of the property were still under construction, but even then, everyone agreed—this place had one of the most breathtaking views in the valley. We never imagined that one day we’d call these thresholds our own. Now, it’s both a dream come true and a work in progress, and we take great pride in sharing it with couples looking for a truly special place to say, “I do.”
Wyoming has a way of making every moment feel a little more magical, and we can’t take credit for the view or the vast expanse of stars in the night sky—but we can invite you to share it with those you love most on one of the sweetest days of your life.
Authentic Chuckwagon Experience Meets Destination Wedding Reception
A Lightbulb Moment—Why Reinvent the Wagon Wheel?
As a ranch owner, event planner, and chef, I’ve spent a lot of time refining our events, searching for that extra something to make them shine. And then it hit me—why reinvent the wagon wheel? The answer had been there all along, passing me on the highway day in and day out—Tim Hayes, our local Chuckwagon Connoisseur.
Tim + Chuckwagon + Arcady Ridge Ranch = YEEHA!
Tim and I have worked together on many events, and he is truly a master of his craft—a seasoned old-timer with a heart that’s forever young. He’s cooked for countless weddings and gatherings around the valley, and his smoked pork and tri-tip are practically famous. Every time I see him on the road to town, he waves me down with an open invitation for coffee, brewed the old-fashioned way—over an open fire on the banks of the Wind River.
I love cooking outside, and the Chuckwagon setup allows me to do just that, bringing a piece of Wyoming’s history, heart, and hospitality to every wedding reception. Tim brings his decades of experience and deep well of patience, and I bring my technical culinary skills to the table. Together, we create something special. There’s just something about good food, cooked over an open flame, shared among friends and family under the Wyoming sky that makes a wedding feel timeless, authentic, and unforgettable.
Oh, and a little trick—if you want to see Tim blush, offer him a piece of wedding cake!
A wedding should be joyful, unpretentious, and deeply personal, and nothing captures that better than a fireside meal, great company, and a starlit dance floor in the heart of Wyoming.
The Unscripted Moments
A wedding may not be the most important day of your life, but it should be one of the sweetest. Over the years, we’ve seen some truly memorable celebrations—some planned, some completely unexpected:
An antique canoe full of beer for guests to help themselves.
A Persian-style carpet dance floor under the Wyoming sky.
A bride and groom challenged to karaoke battles for all to see and hear (Spoiler: THE BRIDE TOTALLY WON!).
A tuxedo-clad labradoodle serving as the ring bearer.
Our ranch tom cat crashing the ceremony, much to the bride’s delight.
A bride walking down the aisle to the Jurassic Park theme song—because that’s what played on her first date with her husband and we couldn’t help but smile.
Rain, wind, thunder, lightning, summer SNOW and joy all around-Yes please!
We hope that when you stand at the altar, surrounded by those who love you, you feel special and blessed. We get to witness these moments every time we host a wedding, and it never stops bringing us joy.
